After Mont Saint Michael we thought nothing could come close.....St Malo on the way home, however, was absolutely gorgeous, a fortified town lit with Christmas lights, ramparts, winding cobblestone streets and beautiful stone buildings.

Monday 27th December Mont Saint Michel
Early Monday morning we headed off to Mont Saint Michell on the northern border of Bretagne with Normandie. We had heard that you can see the building 20km away but actually didn't believe the grandeur of the castle until then. There it sits, a mighty tower of buildings surrounded by sea. Takes your breath away!
