Wednesday 22nd December: Hendaye to Nantes

After a great night in Hendaye, sleeping in a wonderful “Faulty Towers” type hotel, with a great hostess who served very large Armanacs, a fantastic restaurant with very well behaved dogs at the tables, we headed off to Nantes on the TGV (..1^st Class mind, couldn’t get any other tickets.. oh gee!!) to Bordeaux, it was luxury. From there to Nantes a minefield of trying to get seats and room for our suitcases. Six to eight hours later we arrived in Nantes, to find the town completely white with snow. Absolutely beautiful!! Cos we had arrived a day early our plans were a bit awry. Tom had met us at the train and told us all was organized. That started our Christmas- New Year romp in Nantes and Pornichet. Our glorious host, Olivier, picked us up, saving the day, and organizing a hotel to stay. Off we went to find a restaurant, Tom in tow, having our first look at Nantes. After dinner a snowfight just had to happen. Great fun for all!!
